Is The Longhorn Foundation A Real Non-Profit Organization

The Longhorn Foundation is a registered 501(c)3. That means we are a corporation that is set up to be a charitable corporation. We were set up with the intention of providing a service to the community, rather than making a profit.

Most contributions given to The Longhorn Foundation are
Tax Deductible for both individuals as well as companies.

Are my contributions Tax Deductable?

Donations to charity are tax deductible expenses. These donations can reduce your taxable income and lower your tax bill. Not everyone will be able to deduct their charitable contributions, however. You will need to itemize your tax deductions in order to claim any charity.

"You may deduct charitable contributions of money or property made to qualified organizations if you itemize your deductions." (IRS Publication 78)

How do I get involved?

Become Part of the Solution

We invite you to help us Fight Budget Crisis, Build Hope & Deliver Solutions. It starts by simply
contacting us. You tell us if you would like to deliver a charitable gift or volunteer your time towards one of our committees. When combined with the generosity of others, we can make a difference in the lives of individuals and groups all around the Vista community.

What does The Longhorn Foundation need most?

Right now our focus is on raising funds to save programs from budget cuts or to help maintain those programs that are still available.

One of our major projects for Rancho Buena Vista is to provide remodeling to restroom facilities on campus. Through a combination effort of donated materials, labor and some contributions, we hope to have this project done by the end of 2010.

Where do the monies go?

The monies contributed go to the organized groups on campus as well as to facilities needs for RBV. Groups include sports, the arts, academic and social. At present The Foundation does not have a full time staff, but we hope to maintain a staff in the near future.

Do you take old cars and equipment?

Yes, we do take old cars and even some old equipment. If you would like to donate an old car or equipment to The Foundation, please contact us at (760) 727-7284 xt 72988

Do you have Corporate Sponsors?

The Foundation works with various corporations and receives gifts as philanthropic donations. Recently The Longhorn Foundation and 24 Hour Fitness partnered up to deliver gym equipment to three area schools.

The Foundation is open to working with any business opportunity that comes our way. We often work with corporations looking for exposure to students extracurricular activities as well as those looking to find partnerships with student labor.

If your company is interested in discussing either sponsorship opportunities or philanthropic endeavors, please contact us at (760) 727-7284 xt 72988 or
email us.

What is "Dinner @"?

"Dinner @" events are designed as fundraisers through local area businesses throughout the Vista & Oceanside area that are easily accessed by both the community, students and staff.

A local eatery designates an assigned day that The Foundation and RBV acknowledge and promote to go and have "Dinner @". Proceeds from that day(s) receipts are collected and then donated back to The Foundation and those monies can then be used for supporting programs and students back on campus. It's a WIN-WIN for everyone.
